60 % is not First Division in Engineering !!!

What is First Division? How much percentage one should score to get First Division? If you ask above question to a person, you will get 60 % as answer.

The reason is that in almost all school boards, first division is 60% or above. So naturally students think that to get First Division Degree in Engineering, they have to score overall 60%. Some students are in this illusion till the day when they view their final semester results. Some students get shocked when they score above 60 %, yet get a Second Division Degree.

The reason behind all above facts is that First Division is different in Engineering, than in school boards.

In engineering following is the division system:
1.First Division (Hons.) Percentage is 75% or above.
2.First Division Percentage is 65% or above.

Thus, the students scoring below 65% got Second Division Degree. Hope students will find this information helpful for them.
